Computer literacy provides learners with the necessary skills to use computers as educational tools, as well as to equip them with the hard computer skills required beyond school.

Learn how to use an incredibly powerful tool

All Grade 8 learners undertake a two year computer literacy course which is completed at the end of Grade 9. During this time learners cover the basic concepts of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), core office applications like Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and E-Mail and the Internet.

The purpose of this computer literacy is to provide learners with the necessary skills to use computers as valuable educational tools, as well as to equip them with the hard computer skills required in tertiary institutions and the working world.
